Do you PvE or PvP?
Monk is my main and I've never once healed in PvE ^^;
Healing in PvP is fun though.
Anyway, I don't think picking a new class will help you, really...
It's not what you play, it's how you play.
Any class can be played in a simple, boring, routine fashion.
It might be effective, but if you're not enjoying it, then change it o.O
For example, you said you're sick of making red bars go up, right?
Then why not try prot instead of healing?
That would mean you have to pay attention to what's going on...
You'll need to see who's about to get beat on, and stop them from taking damage.
Instead of watching the party window and spamming [[WoH] or something.

I think it's time you started killing things
Since I assume there's a soft spot in your heart for your monk -- why not try smiting? Try RoJ (until it gets nerfed) and the like. You'll get to continue using your primary, but will have a new role.
Otherwise, try a war. or dervish. I think an offensive-minded melee character will be a whole new world for you.... and should be a lot of fun!

Make a Necromancer. Hex pressure is pretty passive and you don't need to think much to stack hexes across an entire team.

As someone with a monk main - yes, making redbars go up alone is boring, that's why you preprot. And when I need to take a break from preventing red bars from going down, I swop to another character and tinker around with that one. My ele is great for stress relief - maybe that might work better for you. As in, don't expect to keep playing with the same character hour after hour - switch around a bit so you don't feel too stuck with one class.

Roll a melee, tear shit up. The experience is more visceral/enjoyable.

Roll a warrior or something, it's fun playing the opposite side for once
